Author: Poran Poregbal

My name is Poran Poregbal. I am a licenced - registered clinical counsellor and registered social worker. My practice of counselling psychology is based on a culturally and trauma-informed basis. I am offering individual and couple counselling sessions. I am offering treatment for symptoms of Emotional Disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, Obsession, Phobia, Trauma, and Post Trauma Stress. In my practice of Counselling Psychology, I do pay attention to my client's history, sense of self, level of motivation for change, resiliency level and the existence of past traumas in life. At times, a couple of sessions of clinical counselling helps individuals to appreciate their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. We can learn to understand the meaning of our emotions and to develop kindness to ourselves. Change of habits and mindset requires hard work; Still possible.

Despite Traumas; Seek the light

There are hopes and dreams while the level of uncertainty and ambiguity is high in the Middle East. The oppressive forces inflict more pain, as much as they are capable of, in order to stay in their blood draining hunt for power. Ordinary people are hurting due to loss of jobs, bad economy, careless actions…

Critical Thinking

Critical Thinking is a decisive skill that has to be taught from the early ages. While critical thinking is pertinent to our daily life, it is not accepted or encouraged in dictatorships or oppressive systems. Still today in 2011, people are being told what to think and how to think. Years ago, once searching for…

About the Report on Censorship in Iran

Searching twitter, I came about to see a twitt and then report that startled me for a moment. Not that there was anything wrong with this report: no, it was painfully true. Who does not know about the ugly reality of censorship in our home country? Who does not know about our young people doing…
