Author: Poran Poregbal

My name is Poran Poregbal. I am a licenced - registered clinical counsellor and registered social worker. My practice of counselling psychology is based on a culturally and trauma-informed basis. I am offering individual and couple counselling sessions. I am offering treatment for symptoms of Emotional Disorders such as Anxiety, Depression, Obsession, Phobia, Trauma, and Post Trauma Stress. In my practice of Counselling Psychology, I do pay attention to my client's history, sense of self, level of motivation for change, resiliency level and the existence of past traumas in life. At times, a couple of sessions of clinical counselling helps individuals to appreciate their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. We can learn to understand the meaning of our emotions and to develop kindness to ourselves. Change of habits and mindset requires hard work; Still possible.

Immigration and our Iranian life

Immigration and our Iranian life is a new concept. We have not had time to digest it, nor have we discussed it. Over two decades, we Iranian have lived outside the geographical borders of our homeland; Iran. Being a woman activist, I have been interested in the life situations, struggles and dreams of marginalized women…

Mulcticultural view on Psychology

There are many areas of life that we could get help with if we have a multicultural or better to say an Iranian view on Psychology. We would benefit from a new evaluation of the use of psychology for understanding human behavior and the human mind in our diverse cultures. The scientific outlook of psychology…

We-ness

We-ness Our Iranian community needs to discuss the three decades of Diaspora and its impact on culture, family life, and our next generations. We have a large Persian community now around the world, which thanks to Internet and new technology could work together to find a common ground on many areas of life. We need…
